Golden days at Gold Coast - Day 4 and 5

Day 4 and 5 of our Gold Coast trip was truly well spent as we visited two of the most famous tourist attractions and best theme parks, Dreamworld and Movie world. Dreamworld  is Australia's largest theme park with over 40 rides and attractions including five roller coasters. The park is made up of several themed lands: Ocean Parade, DreamWorks Experience, Wiggles World, Gold Rush Country, Rocky Hollow, Tiger Island and the Dreamworld Corroboree. These lands have a collection of rides, animal exhibits, shows, food outlets and merchandise shops.Dreamworld is well known as the location of the Australian Big Brother house. We saw the Big Brother house but couldn't enter as its a separate entry and we need to buy tickets separately.

We experienced a few astonishing rides in dreamworld which included the claw, cyclone roller coaster, giant drop, tower of terror, buzzsaw, motocoaster amongst others. We even saw the tiger show and Madagascar live show.
The claw was our first ride and we were literally shaken after the ride. It's just heart stopping. It's a 360 degree experience and it's supposed to be the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

Another extremely heart thumping ride was the giant drop which was officially declared the ‘tallest, vertical free-fall ride in the world’ by the Guinness Book of World Records in their 1999 edition. The Giant Drop is now a legendary Australian landmark. The free fall is from a height of 119 meters which is equal to a 39 storey building. The best thing about this ride is when we reach the top most point, they give a break for a few seconds. We don't know when the drop happens so every second up there is exciting. We were waiting for almost 30 to 40 seconds as we were up and completely still. Then suddenly the drop happened and cannot express how it was. The speed at which we experience the drop is supposed to be 135 kmph. No phones, cameras or go pros are allowed. If we are wearing thongs or sandals then we have to remove it so that it doesn't fall from that height.

There were two other thrilling rides - tower of terror and buzz saw. Tower of terror is a major must do in dream world. There was a huge line for this and we waited more than hour to get in.. Tower of terror is one of the most iconic scream machines. Since the Tower of Terror’s official launch, millions of passengers have experienced this thrill ride which is supposed to be one of the most technologically advanced rides in the world. It was the first ride in the world to break the 100 mile/hour barrier. The silence lasts for just milliseconds before the car blasts backwards rocketing guests out of a huge tunnel at rapid speed hitting up to 161 km/h in seven seconds flat. The tunnel makes us feel as if we are a part of some sci-fi movie. This was a unique ride for us because we had never experienced a ride which goes backwards and then moves forward. It was worth all the wait.

Buzz saw was the last ride we experienced after Motor Coaster and cyclone and this ride literally got us upside down with the twists and turns. Yet another must do at dream world.

In between these amazing rides , we saw two shows- the tiger show and the Madagascar show for kids which were good too. The day was well spent and all of us experienced a few incredible rides. We went back to our apartment, took some rest, enjoyed swimming and finally the day ended with a take away from Thai Thai restaurant

Day 5 again had one of the biggest attractions , Warner Bros movie world is the only movie related theme park in Australia. The park contains various movie-themed rides and attractions ranging from motion simulators to roller coasters and slow river rides. In addition, costumed character performers also patrol the park, allowing visitors the chance to take photos with them. These include Batman, Scooby Doo, various Looney Tunes characters, Justice League amongst many others. The All-Star Parade showcases costumed characters alongside vehicles and many movie-themed artists.

Movie world is very famous for its superman escape which is a superman themed roller coaster. That was our first ride and we were in love with it mainly because of the way the ride has been designed. So there is a subway station which is in trouble and while the coaster is moving in the subway, we have warnings of tremors and we have to move to the next station in ten seconds. As soon as this happens, there comes a loud noise which says "Don't worry folks, there is only one way out of this mess, head back, I'll get you out of here. Fast. Superman fast." that's when the roller coaster shoots up to a speed of 100kmph in just two seconds and after that is one hell of a ride. We were at the front so the amount of excitement was double. Truly a must and should experience in movie world.

The next ride was the Green Lantern which is again a roller coaster but very different. It is supposed to be the steepest inverted drop in the Southern Hemisphere. Also four people sit in each row so its basically like two coasters going together. It was a lovely ride.

We experienced the Batwing spaceshot which is one of the fastest rides in movie world. We will be shot 60 metres into the sky and then we experience the drop. It was fun. A few other awesome experiences were with the arkhum asylum ride which is the first Arkhum asylum themed ride. Scooby Doo coaster is actually a must for a secret experience which cannot be revealed. That's the highlight of the whole ride. Then we experienced justice league 3D ride and the Wild West fall adventure ride. We covered the entire movie world including a few kid rides like the road runner roller coaster. Luckily there weren't much people as it was a midweek so we could cover all the rides.

The Wild West fall adventure is a water ride which is very well planned. It's again one of a kind experience and cannot be missed. The ride starts with the lazy river and then we go on a coaster ride splashing through the water.

In between these rides was the spectacular star parade of all the Warner Bros movie characters. It was amazing to watch them all together. Another experience was the stunt show which was again jaw dropping. We got goosebumps when we saw stuntmen performing such deadly stunts. The whole day was well spent and at last we went to the superman escape twice just to experience the thrill. We sat at the front as always and doubled the excitement. Superman escape is truly super good.
