Gold Coast, a name which brings a smile on everyone's face in Australia. Gold Coast is a very famous tourist destination in Queensland and it's called the Theme Park Capital of Australia. This trip was a very special one because my brother joined us too along with a few other friends.
Day 1 was completely relaxed. We left home early in the morning and reached Gold Coast around 10.30am as there was a delay in the flight. We checked in at our apartment in Surfers Paradise and then went to have lunch at Tandoori Palace. The remaining day was at leisure so we had some good rest, enjoyed ourselves in the spa and swimming pool. Later in the evening went to visit the nearby Oasis mall for some grocery shopping followed by dinner at Valentinos Pizzeria.

The actual trip began with day 2 with our visit to the first theme park of our trip, Sea World which is a marine mammal park, oceanarium, and a theme park. There was a crazy crowd out there and we had to wait for a long time to get in even though we had the yearly pass. We were very excited to see all the different creatures and the thing we loved the most was the Dolphin Show, Sea Lion show and the Jet Ski show. It's unbelievable to see how these lovely animals are trained to perfection and they perform so well. We even went on the Sky way to experience a birds eye view of the entire Sea World.

There were two rides which we loved and they are Storm Coaster and Jet rescue. Storm coaster is more like a roller coaster but the theme is storm so everything looks like broken, damaged or flooded.
Jet Rescue is again a roller coaster travelling at 70 kmph flying past rock pools and it races through a dark cave. For both of these thrill rides, we had to wait for a long time.
There are quite a few rides for the kids but Sea World is mainly about the animal shows. They have a shark bay, they have polar bear, penguins, sea lions, sting rays, many different sea birds and the cutest of all, the dolphins. If anyone is planning to visit Gold Coast, then don't forget to visit Sea World at least for the awesome shows. So our 2nd day ended on a good note after a wholesome dinner at Thai Thai Restaurant.
Day 3 was exciting for everyone else except me as we went to Wet N Wild, a water theme park. If there is one thing which I can't be friendly with, it's the water. I hate being in water or rather I should say I'm too scared to even imagine myself in a swimming pool. So basically I have a tremendous phobia for water. Everyone were so happy that they got a chance to play in water and I was searching for reasons to avoid it. But finally I tagged along and enjoyed all the rides.
There are some amazing rides in Wet n Wild such as the Blackhole where you are sent into an adrenaline pumping black spiral hole where it's pitch darkness or the Kamikaze where we experience a thrilling sensation of zero gravity and plunge down a near vertical 11 meter drop at a steep 70 degree angle, and reach speeds of up to 50 kmph or Mach 5 where you can expereince fast jetstream body slides or the tornado which is as crazy as the name sounds and not to forget the super 8 aqua racer.

The best experience was with the AquaLoop and Sky Coaster. Aqua loop has four massive transparent looping slides. We are made to enter the trap door and we wait anxiously before being released down a giant 40 foot free fall drop, at 60 kmph. When you are inside the trap door, your heart will be thumping because the door below your foot can open any time and the free fall phase which we experience is mind blowing. We were so thrilled with this ride that we went for the second time even though we had to wait for a while. For a hydrophobic person like me, this was something unexpected. But there is nothing scary about this ride as we don't end up in a pool or a puddle.

The next and the last big thing to happen that day was the sky coaster ride. It was an out of this world experience. Undoubtedly the best of all the rides and thrills. It was like an icing on the cake for that day as it ended with a bang. Skycoaster can be experienced alone or with a partner or with two people as the maximum capacity is 3 at a time and that depends on our weight too. So my husband Naveen, brother Sooraj and I went together. Naveen was in the center and the instructor asked me if I want to pull the ripcord. I didn't understand at first what she exactly meant but then she told me when we go up, one of us who are at the corners have to pull the ripcord before plummeting face first towards the ground. Now that was something which I couldn't do and so by default it went to Sooraj as he was on the other corner. So they laid us flat and strapped into harness attached to a massive cable and then the cable started pulling us up and we went higher and higher and it seemed like it would never stop. Then finally at 50 meters above the ground we were ready to be catapulted across the giant wave pool at 60kmph which was as fast as the aqua loop mentioned above. When they stop the countdown at 1, my brother pulled the ripcord and we just rushed towards the ground. It was heart thumping and extremely thrilling. It's exactly like a free fall and then we started swinging. We didn't want the experience to end, it was exceptional!!
